SHOWCASE
Getting the most out of your Living Labs Global Showcase
Based on our analysis of usage data and feedback, we have compiled our findings into five recommendations for those editing new Showcases, or those that have already published them:
1. Promote your Showcase.
Not all Showcases submitted are admitted into the Living Labs Global Showcase. Tell your customers, friends and colleagues once your Showcase is published by embedding your custom button in your website, emails or newsletters (follow the “Showcase Resources” link in your Showcase page). Some authors have sent out a Press Release when their Showcase got published, and the results were spectacular: Their Showcase drew around 100x as many visitors as the average Showcase.
2. Great photos inspire viewers.
We recommend that you re-visit your Showcase, including the downloadable .pdf version, to make sure that your images are available in sufficient quality and that you have chosen an inspiring illustration or photo to catch the reader’s attention. Please send us any additional or replacement images with a reference to your Showcase.
3. Video Showcase.
Showcase viewers increasingly turn to our video collection to learn more about Showcases and see them in action. On our Living Labs Global Youtube Channel you can find already a growing number of videos that are complementing our Showcase format. If you have video content to support your Showcase, do let us know so that we can upload your video or pick up your video in our channel.
4. Editorial Guidelines.
Be Specific. Highlight your solution’s novel end-user impact. Provide readers with an honest overview of the value of your solution instead of a lengthy description of the service or its enabling-technology. Numbers Help. Numbers reveal the scale of a problem and the value of your solution to users, providers or partners. Tell a Story. In your Showcase, combine the challenge, solution, and results into a story to engage the reader.
5. Highlight Individual Services.
Each Showcase should highlight a unique solution and not be a bundled brand offering or company presentation. If your company, institute, or municipality has multiple new service innovations or even applications, present each solution through a separate Showcase.
